Tariff Update from EB Horsman

March 14, 2025
Tariff Update from EB Horsman

We've received numerous inquiries about tariffs, and we want to assure you that EB Horsman's leadership team is in constant communication with our supplier partners and Electro Federation Canada regarding any upcoming tariff changes.

Counter tariffs on U.S. imports may lead to price fluctuations and potential supply chain disruptions. We are actively monitoring the situation and will work with our manufacturing partners to mitigate any additional costs due to tariffs.

Increased freight costs and supply chain disruptions are possible, but the extent of these impacts remains unclear. Our logistics team is closely monitoring the situation. Lead time disruptions can be minimized by encouraging early order placements and collaborative forecasting whenever possible.

We have reviewed existing orders in-house and have yet to receive any indication from a Supplier that our costs will change.

Some supplier partners have noted that a volatile exchange rate or the weakness of the Canadian dollar is exerting the most pressure on price adjustments.

We will continue to engage with our partners on their future pricing strategies and encourage everyone to stay updated by following Electro Federation Canada's Newsroom.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

As you may be aware, recent developments in U.S. trade policies and the Canadian response have introduced tariffs on a variety of exported and imported goods. These changes have the potential to impact supply chains and increase the costs of materials used within the electrical industry.

At EB Horsman, we remain committed to providing you with high-quality products and services without disruption. However, at this point, it is difficult to predict the full extent of the impact on our industry. To date in 2025, the majority of Supplier Price Increase announcements indicate a rise in raw material costs, freight costs and foreign exchange rates as the main reasons behind these changes. All Suppliers indicate they are actively engaged in supply chain discussions, analyzing raw material, manufacturing, logistics, and transportation costs to ensure the continued delivery of high-quality products and services.

Suppliers are closely monitoring the potential impact of tariffs. Additional price increases may be required should tariffs between Canada and the United States remain in effect. While we hope this will not be the case, certain product categories, particularly those sourced from steel and aluminum suppliers in Canada, or finished goods from Mexico, Europe, or Asia, may be affected. If adjustments to pricing are required, they will follow the standard processes for such changes.

For the majority of our suppliers, with the exception of wire, cable, and conduit, advance notice of any price changes will be provided. We want to assure you that we are working closely with our supplier partners to mitigate any potential supply chain or pricing disruptions to the best of our ability. Given the current level of uncertainty in the market, each day brings new challenges, and we remain focused on navigating these issues to serve you effectively.

Thank you for your continued trust and support.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to your Account Manager or local branch.
